[A second after he moves, Terezi is drifting forward as well, hands fluttering to his chest. A faint, curious smile hits her lips; she snickers, responding:] The coolness permeated the area. I became so accustomed to the scent that I didn't notice when the source decided to grace me with his presence, obviously!
[The pause is so short that it's probably not worth mentioning at all, but Dave can feel it. Something about the way Terezi's hands splay over his chest and how the feeling of it leaves him, for the smallest fraction of a moment, unable to really say anything at all. In that moment, he's thinking about a native girl,with her chest torn open and someone else's fingers plucking out whatever is inside. There's a low, burning sort of tumble deep in his chest, and Dave swallows to try and ignore it.
[The old joke passes between them, except Terezi is too distracted by the surge of negative feelings coming off him to respond with her usual faux-offended defense of her nose's integrity. Instead she lifts a hand to press against the side of his neck, thumb rubbing in an arc across the smooth human skin (softer than hers, which she finds consistently funny).
The other drops down from his chest until their fingers can entwine.] Come inside, pretty boy, [is all she says, giving his hand a light tug.]
